Maps are usually communicated in a jpg or PDF format. They are very often hand-drawn They are difficult to review because they are complex and hard to read. It is difficult to locate specific items such as alcohol vendors, or first-aid locations.
EventMapStudio improves the review and approval process in 4 ways:
- The map is in digital format and provides easy zooming functionality
- The View Palette allows the reviewer to filter item types in or out of the map, in effect creating simpler maps that are easier to understand. For example it is possible to view a restroom-only map that allows to analyze the number and location of restroom.
- The Spatial Analysis functionality enables the analysis of specific attributes of the event and focus on specific aspect of the map such as alcohol vendors, or first-aid locations.
- The Automated Map Verification (AMV) functionality extracts key information in an easy to view display. The reviewer does not need to look at the actual map to get a good idea of what is on it, and answer key questions such as is there alcohol at the event? or What is the size of the largest tent? AMV also provides key information about the sustainability of the food, energy, sanitation, water use, transportation, and well-being measures at the event.
